Price control - stamped and franked business mail
Consultation on Royal Mail's plans to charge customers different prices, depending on how they pay for their post.
Royal Mail proposed charging customers who use a meter, franking machine or Printed Postage Impression (PPI) less than those who use stamps.
Under the terms of its price control, Royal Mail can introduce these changes, so what Postcomm was seeking were views on the wider implications of Royal Mail charging different prices depending on how customers pay for their postage. These views were fed into the proposals for the 2006-10 price control (published in June 2005).
