A licence was issued to G3 on 21 June 2001 for the collection of outbound international mail. G3 sought an exemption for this activity and one was granted on 5 February 2002.  G3, and other postal operators wishing to operate a Service for the collection of outbound international mail, are now exempt from section 6 of the Postal Services Act 2000, from requiring a licence for such a service.
