Postcomm corrects Interim Review direction to permit increased tariff rebalancing
3 July 2009
Postcomm has today issued a direction to correct for a typographical error contained in the Interim Review direction which was published on 10 January 2008.
In response to an application made by Royal Mail on 20 March 2007, Postcomm made a direction under Condition 21(16) of Royal Mail’s licence on 10 January 2008 to change the limit on the extent to which the price for certain controlled services can be increased in each pricing year, referred to as the rebalancing subcaps.
The table in paragraph 1(a)(i) of the direction contained a typographical error in which the ‘LL 1-100g’ format (to which the 8.5 per cent subcap would apply) had been incorrectly transposed as ‘L 1-100g’. The amended direction corrects this error and is to apply with effect from 10 January 2008.
Royal Mail has priced its services in 2009/10, with Postcomm’s agreement, in such a way as to be compliant with the typographical correction.
