Postcomm publishes draft forward work plan for 2008-2011

21 January 2008

Postcomm, the independent regulator for postal services in the UK, has published - for consultation - its draft forward work plan for 2008-11 (pdf, 318KB).

The forward work plan sets out Postcomm's overall strategy for 2008-11, along with detail on the specific projects the regulator intends to undertake.  It describes Postcomm's mandate and goals, and its priorities for the year. There are a number of top priority workstreams, which must be completed, as well as potential projects/workstreams that are contingent on factors beyond Postcomm's control, for example, access determinations, or appeals against any Postcomm decisions. If Postcomm is required to divert resources to such projects, then others - which are desirable but not an absolute priority - may be re-evaluated.

Notes for editors

Postcomm is required to submit the final plan to its parent department - the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (external link) - by 31 March 2008 and is consulting on this draft version for two months. Therefore we require views by Friday 21 March 2008.

Responses may be published. Respondants wishing their views to remain confidential should make this clear.
