Postcomm consults on a long term licence for Intercity Communications

23 June 2005

Postcomm today began a 30 day consultation on the proposed issue of a long term licence to Intercity Communications Ltd, to provide bulk mail services, consolidation (collection and sorting of mail) and tracked business-to-business services.

Postcomm is minded, subject to consultation, to grant a licence to Intercity Communications. We believe that the proposed services will further the interests of postal services users by promoting competition between postal operators, and that it will have no adverse effect on the provision of a universal postal service in the United Kingdom.
