Postcomm issues a long term licence to Speedmail International and changes its interim licence

13 January 2004

Following consultation, Postcomm today issued a long term licence to Speedmail International Limited to provide bulk mail, consolidated mail and tracked business-to-business mail services.

At the same time, Postcomm made changes to Speedmail’s existing interim licence to enable the company to continue to provide mailroom services. Postcomm has recently consulted on whether mailroom services should be totally exempt from licensing and will shortly be making a recommendation to the Secretary of State. If mailroom services are exempted, Speedmail’s interim licence will cease at that point.

The text of the proposed licence and changes to the interim licence can be found on Postcomm’s website www.psc.gov.uk. Printed copies are available from Postcomm at 6 Hercules Road London SE1 7DB.
