Peoplepost Limited was granted a licence (pdf, 270KB) on 8 May 2008. In accordance with the establishment of Consumer Focus, the abolition of Postwatch on 30 September 2008 and the transfer of its functions to Consumer Focus, several modifications were required to the licence for example to remove references to Postwatch. Following the issue of a proposals notice in August 2008, Postcomm modified the licence (pdf, 55 KB) in December 2008.
Under the licensing arrangements:
- Peoplepost Limited must comply with the mail integrity code and the common operational procedures code.
- licensed area mail carried by Peoplepost Limited will, unless exempted, carry a unique mail identification code marking Peoplepost Limited as the licensed operator responsible for carrying it.
